Thank god for Derek
i have decided getting public transport is always going to be funny. Today i am making a trip up north, and i had to get east coast trains from Kings X...OBVIOUSLY my train was cancelled...but i wasn't even annoyed, there are way to many people to laugh at on these manic adventures. Por ejemplo..."pinky" - a woman in a pink jacket causing serious chaos and queue jumping because for some reason i think she thought she was in a more URGENT situation than the rest of us. I mean serioiusly there was not even an issue, they were going to put us on the next train and will get seats...but it was the queue that was really "confusing" everyone. My fav thing about a "crisis" - all the normal people with a mild sense of humour tend to group together and talk through it...i obvi fall into that category and made some new pals. one of which i had that awkward chat with when the train did start moving...whos gonna stop talking first so we both get down to our magazines/films. MADMAN no.2 - tattoo on his ear lobe dressed in sporty attire was making a scene at the front of the queue blatantly so when queue eventually moved hed be at the front - but luckily for us PINKY noticed and ordered his little ass to the back. DEREK was THE guy in charge of operations. If it wasn't for him, gheez, i think we'd all probably be stuck in kings cross waddling around because we are all stupid and none of us have experienced train disruptions before...HMMMM. but you know, DEREK did his job, and ushered us on to the new train with a sly wink and a warning to "not spread the word" coz obviously the back of the queue isnt going to notice that the front has started to jog/walk towards a platfrom. As you can imagine this didnt work..it was chaos...Grown men and grannies were running....luckily me and my new pal had youth on our side so we didnt have to embarass ourselves by visibly running we just walked with HASTE. Im still on the train now...its wild...people trying to get down aisles with SUITCASES>>>>are you maddd??? did you just knock my elbow without apologising....grrr...
Over and out from somewhere between london and leeds...
and another BIG thanks to DEREK at national rail for making sure we survived the day....PHEW
